Bring New Welcome Signs to Borrego Springs

Previous Next

The Borrego Village Association (BVA) has been working closely with a volunteer committee to replace the aging welcome signs that greet visitors and residents of Borrego Springs. Originally installed in the 1970s, these signs are now faded, worn, and no longer reflect the vibrancy of our community.

After an extensive planning process—including two community surveys and broad outreach—we have finalized three new welcome sign designs and selected ideal locations for them. The designs were developed in partnership with Graphic Solutions, a San Diego-based firm led by Simon Andrews, a part-time Borrego Springs resident. Their expertise, combined with valuable community input, has resulted in an exciting and meaningful project that will enhance the town’s identity and sense of pride.

To bring this vision to life, we need to raise $120,000 to cover county permitting, fabrication, and installation. We plan to apply for a $50,000 grant from the San Diego County Neighborhood Revitalization Program, but we must secure matching funds of $50,000 to $70,000 from community contributions.

We are seeking support from local businesses, civic organizations, residents, and visitors to make this happen. Donations of any amount are appreciated, and contributors will receive special recognition:

  • $500+ donors will be acknowledged on a plaque displayed with the signs.
  • $1,000+ donors will receive additional special recognition.
