Mountain Springs Road to Table Mountain

In the southern region of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is Table Mountain.  The Jacumba Mountain Wilderness marks the rugged land that surrounds Table Mountain and provides challenging off-road opportunities to follow the old stage coach route.  Small fault lines splinter through the area creating a variety of springs.  The fresh water results in fantastic wildlife viewing especially in the early morning.  Mountain springs road is a favorite among hikers and trail runners and the occasional off road vehicles navigating their way through the challenging turns.  Entering the area off of I8 will treat you to a variety of roads connecting old mines with geologically significant formations.  For a descriptive write up of driving Mountain Springs road please click HERE.  This link includes directions to the trail and good information to read before starting your adventure.
